Hi, my name is Michael Klopotowski, I’m a Product Planner for the Golf family. The car behind me is the all-new Golf SportWagen; this particular model is a concept model with a full motion TDI. What we try to cater to is to customers which require a car which has additional cargo volume, additional versatility of a small SUV, but also one that’s a fun-to-drive, sporty type of car. So with the SportWagen concept that we brought to New York, we also featured the R-line exterior enhancements. So you can see the bumper is a little bit different, a little bit more aggressive, a little bit more sporty. The Volkswagen badge has a number of different uses. It integrates the rear-view camera, but it also serves as the latch to open the tailgate. With the car being wider and the car being lower, you get additional cargo volume but also makes it easier to get things in and out of the car. And additional features of versatility are these latches here which allow you to fold down the seats from the back of the car. At the interior of the SportWagen, the design is carried over from the rest of the Golf family. So new technologies and features such as the larger touch-screen radio with proximity sensors for both the radio and navigation, KESSY, Climatronic, automatic headlights, the R-line seats, thicker, more sporty R-line steering wheel as well. One of the unique features of the SportWagen is this giant, panoramic sunroof which goes over the front and the back row, so it lets in a lot of light. Versatility in the SportWagen is obviously one of the biggest features. You get the cargo capacity and the size of a compact SUV, but you maintain the lower, wider stance so it still maintains that sporty, fun-to-drive element. .
