This is the all-new 2019 Jetta. We have it parked next to a 2017 Jetta which is the previous body style to kind of give you an idea of some of the differences between the two cars. You’ll notice that right up here that the front end is different. You’ve got you a new grille with, you know, a lot of chrome accents and lines that go across the entire car. This is an SEL Premium, so you’ll notice that it has the fog lights but they’re all going to have LED lights and true LED lights. The purpose of that is the lights that emulate daylight are brighter, easier on the eyes – keep you, the driver, awake at night – the artificial looking lights cause fatigue over time, but that’s the overall look of the car. If you come around to side you’ll notice that they improved the backup camera. The evidence I can give you of that is that I backed the thing up into the spot and I didn’t hit our social media maven’s car doing it. New wheels of course, that’s something that happens every year, but again, they’ve gone for these aggressive lines down the side of the car to make the Jetta stand out. But it also improves its aerodynamism. If you come around to the back – you’ll notice that They’ve changed the line on the trunk it has a spoiler you know kind of built it do it again for that fuel economy and that that aerodynamism. You’ve still got your backup camera and those features back here but they’ve changed the lines back here in the lights as well compared to the SE Jetta for 2017, the front and the back are very different the wheels are different but the lines on the car have all been sharpened in 2019 to give it a more luxury more sporty more aggressive look and the Jetta has always been one of Volkswagen’s better looking, better equipped cars. So this is definitely a vehicle that’ll be a home run for us but also the consumer. This is a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta SEL Premium. We’re pointing out some of the interior features here in the car. One of the first things that you notice is it has Volkswagen’s Digital Cockpit. So I can bring up my navigation, the assist systems, the audio all of that just as if it was up here on the regular touchscreen – which is really nice especially the navigation if you’re on a long drive for that information to be right in front of you and you can even do it in such a way if I go here to the navigation system, and change that over to being up here so that you know it’s on the screen instead of on
the touchscreen. It gives a lot of you know confidence in what you’re doing and it’s right in front of you instead of having to look around. On top of that though, your touchscreen is now in a position where it’s a lot more ergonomic for the driver- it’s turned towards me. It’s not as far away as it had been so it’s not so much of a reach. Other interior features include a redesigned steering wheel. You have your dual climate control with your heated and ventilated seats. They’ve put the USB in a less awkward position. If you look over here at your shifter this has the Drive Mode Selector. So this has the XD in it. adjust the differential for different driving situations. You can turn the engine start/stop system on or off from there. What’s nice about that is we’re parked right now and now I’m driving and it clicks the engine back on. But while we’re stationary it’s not unnecessarily using fuel. .
