You join me inside the new VW Polo And together we’ll discover the infotainment system But before that, a little reminder to keep following us on our channel By subscribing and clicking on the little bell icon to turn on post notifications And please follow us on Instagram and Facebook, too By the way, if you’re interested in tech, don’t miss our focuses videos about Android Auto and Apple CarPlay But now let’s discover this car’s infotainment! To speed things up, I already connected via Bluetooth my phone This car has Bluetooth, 1 SD reader and 2 USB ports This is the main menu, with 8 icon buttons We have the radio We have DAB Radio, from here I can select the single channels But there’s also this space you can scroll around with the various radio logos You can also select the radio stations from the genres of them Talk, religion, news, sports and many others You can obviously manually adjust the frequencies And this radio gives a very clear sound quality Of course we’re dealing with DAB Radio, so perfect sound quality Media: as I said before, my phone is already connected via Bluetooth Here are the various sources: Audio BT, USB 1 and 2, SD and CD I can also use music from Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which I prefer to the car’s system Because the car’s system doesn’t allow me many things, like choosing playlists and genres It is a bit incomplete, but you can forgive it thanks to the sound quality The quality of it is excellent for a tiny car like this one It is really crystal clear, with deep bass, I really like it In App-Connect you can choose among Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirrorlink Again, I suggest you to take a look at our focuses videos about these systems, now we’ll see something else Images: with SD, USB and CD We can add some screensaver-like images Phone: it works very well, I never had any problems with the Bluetooth You can control your phone both from the screen and from the steering wheel buttons First of all, we have the favorites and the SOS button I have the chance to choose 5 favorite numbers from my contact list Here’s the keyboard, the touchscreen too works really well, never had an issue or a bug Then there’s my full contact list SMS works similar, but the cool thing of VW’s system for SMSs Is that I can read the single messages, I can’t do it on Android Auto and Apple CarPlay I can read every single message, for example a message
from 3 I can also answer it, delete it or send a new message Here are the lost calls and the various calls I made I can’t show you because I don’t have it, but if you have contact photos they’ll be shown on screen Let’s get back to the main menu A thing I wanted to show you Under here there’s a proximity sensor When I approach to the screen with my hand, the screen activates all the functions We saw this feature in the new VW Touareg, a nice feature Vehicle App has this page with almost a challenge to the driver, to accomplish better fuel consumptions On the screen behind the steering wheel every now and then little useful suggestions appear If I click on Think Blue, all the suggestions appear This page, for example, gives suggestions for more efficient gear changes Another page suggests safe and calm driving They are very useful both for young people and adults who never knew some of them We can also set many things of the car itself, for example the doors closing and opening modes You can decide to open just one door or just the doors of one side of the car Other settings for the side view mirrors and the back windscreen wiper Other settings for the lights, for the driving assistance systems Here we have the sound system settings, inside the main Media menu You can manually adjust the bass, the medium and the high, let’s reset Last one is the setup, a specific page with the display settings We can set the unities of measure Bluetooth settings, system informations and so on So, this was the VW Polo infotainment system I think it’s very complete I think you noticed this car doesn’t have Navi But thanks to the maps of Android Auto or Apple CarPlay you’re not going to miss it Let’s be honest, everyone in 2018 owns a smartphone All you need is a cable or Bluetooth and you have access to live updated maps The car’s Navi systems have to be updated manually once in a while That’s why I personally prefer Android Auto and Apple CarPlay maps instead of the cars’ ones So in the end I really like it Don’t forget to take a look at our focuses videos about Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and fuel consumptions Please subscribe to our Youtube channel That’s it for today, see you in the next video! Ciao!
