Almost ten years after the first commercial launch, it is second-generation time for the Volkswagen Tiguan, the appreciated medium German SUV, that we tested in the version equipped with the 2.0 TDI engine with 150 HP, DSG automatic gearbox and 4Motion all-wheel drive. Built on the same platform used for the new Golf and A3, the renewed version of the Tiguan offers a clean and rational design, which takes into some points the new Passat one and perhaps not will warm too much the heart of lovers of aggressive and sinuous lines. The 4×4 version of the Tiguan can be equipped with a special front, which allows an angle of attack by more than 25 degrees and is ideal for those who want to make a more offroad use. The cabin is comfortable and spacious, with lot of centimeters also for rear passengers. Some defects we found in the instrumentation, with a high amount of buttons (also of reduced dimensions and with tiny written), while the finish is accurate and of good quality, improvable only at the level of the door panels.Technically, the Tiguan 4Motion offers four driving modes and a special clutch that, as soon as checks a loss of adhesion, activates in a moment the four-wheel drive, ensuring the maximum safety in every situation. On the road, the 2.0 engine with 150 HP (also available in 190 HP variant) combined with the excellent DSG automatic transmission, is smooth and gradual, and pushes in case of need without ever being noisy; Finally, we found a discrete fuel consumption, with average distance of about 15 Km/liter. .
