Today on our 2013 volkswagen jetta we’re doing a test fit of the rhino-rack road warrior roof mounted bike rack that part number is rbc035 that down and then we’ll go over some other features so back here in the back at our tire we have a regular ratcheting strap so to release that we’re just going to push on the button and lift that out now a great thing about this is that it does move up and down the length of your rack so you don’t have to worry about having a certain length rack or certain like bike to use your bike rack up at the front we have a locking skewer option now this is going to be great if you want to have fork mounts it also adjusts for different fork sizes so again you don’t have to worry about that being specific and you also have that lock option there to protect your bike so if we open our handle we can use the handle and turn it one way or the other that’s going to loosen and tighten that skewer around your Forks and then when it’s loose enough you can just pull your bike straight off and set it off to the side and with it out of the way i always suggest we replace our straps when we’re not using them so they don’t get lost damaged or have too much dirt and debris in those grooves and then if we take a look back here at the back we’ve got a metal bracket with a rubber or rubber cushioning here that’s going to protect your crossbars so you’re not going to have a lot of damage from rubbing or movement on that bar we also have two thumb screws one on each side those can be loosened and tighten around the crossbar to secure your bike rack it’s also going to accommodate different style bars that you may have up at the front we have a locking cover here now you won’t be able to see the teet rackmount but it’s just going to be a rectangular nut that is inside our channel here all we had to do is take out our weather stripping now a great option for anyone who is planning on keeping their bike on their rack for an extended period of time is to cut those weather strips to fit right up against that bike rack so it’ll keep the wind noise reduced and you won’t have to worry about having that big open space there we also have those two nuts are those two bolts at the top now you can use any type of allen key if you have the rhino rack crossbars like we have here you can use the torque tool that’s included with those to loosen and tighten that and secure it on your T track unfortunately these only fit on the vortex
aero bars or certain types of factory bars that you may already have on your vehicle we can cover that up and lock that and that’s going to secure your bike rack to your vehicle so that’s going to be our completed look at the rhino-rack road warrior roof mounted bike rack part number rbc035 volkswagen jetta let’s see how it does on the test course here on our test course we’ll start by going through the slalom this is going to show us the side to side action which simulates turning corners or evasive maneuvers once we get to the alternating speed bumps we’ll see the twisting action this will simulate hitting a curb or pothole or driving over uneven pavement once we get to the full speed bumps we’ll see the up and down action this will be just like driving in and out of a parking lot garage or driveway you
