Volkswagen Amarok V6 TDI review

In Volkswagen Amarok

One of my new year’s resolutions is to go out more, do some outdoor activities. This has to be done Autoblog style, though. Something with a V6 or V8 diesel engine. You can use these to do fun things outside, but it has to be with style. I told you, it fits. You’ll have to fold in your mirrors. – Famous last words. I don’t see it in focus yet. Is it the first time with these binoculars? Look at that coat. They’re special. You can see they have less to eat in winter. They’re very skinny. Look. There aren’t 224 here. Public transport ruins more than you’d like. My pretty view on the horses. You may wonder why Autoblog drives an Amarok. First, it has a V6 TDI. We’ll get back to that later. It’s a nice engine. I drove past barracks which had flat green Amaroks. That is cool. It looks nice. They used to have G-Classes, but Mercedes put less effort into these. They have Amaroks nowadays. When you get in, you feel it’s an enormous car. This is big.Very big. There’s no excessive room inside. It’s meant to be a workhorse. Especially the bed has a lot of space. I’ll show you how in a minute. I think it used to have a 2.0 TDI, but it has a V6 TDI nowadays. Only these. There are 3 varieties: 161 hp, 201 hp, and 221 hp. Guess which one we’re driving. Exactly, the 221 hp version. First try, well done. It’s special they say “fuck downsizing, we’re going bigger”. This has a reason. I already covered this reason in some videos. Maybe not just diesel engines, but torque. To feel the engine pulling you along, including the optional load. More torque. Even the base model… Bumps. I’ll get back to that later. Even the base model V6 TDI with 161 hp has 450 Nm (332 lb ft) torque. This version has 550 Nm (406 lb ft). It has a kind of overboost function that gives you 15 kW extra. That’s 20 hp. That means it has 242 hp and that’s muy rapido.A lot of torque. That’s why you’re allowed to tow a lot. The press release says 3,500 kg towing weight. That’s a lot. That’s 350,000 euros, which is a lot of money. A euro coin weighs 7.5 grams. 350,000 euros would be 2,623 kg. If you have a trailer that can handle this weight, which is 800-900 kg itself, you get to tow 3,500 kg with this car. You can also take it off-road. I don’t know how to go off-roading, so it’s very exciting when it takes a dive. Hope it doesn’t drown or get stuck. This car has summer tires. AWD doesn’t do anything in the snow. It has wheelspin on 4 wheels and braking does
nothing. It’s no use in real mud either. It has a differential lock, though. I don’t know what it locks exactly, but you feel it lock completely, like a drift car. About driving on-road… 0-100 kph (62 mph) in this pickup truck with a 221 hp V6 TDI…You should take a guess. I think you won’t guess it’s 7.9 seconds. That’s very fast. I’m going to try 0-100 kph (62 mph) off-road. Let’s see if it can do it. No problem. I’m not doing 100 kph (62 mph) yet. 100 kph (62 mph). The top speed is 193 kph (120 mph), but that’s with a tailwind. We compared a sprint with tailwind and headwind. You’ll see a big difference in speed over the same distance. This handles like you’d expect of a pickup or off-road vehicle with rear leaf springs, bouncing over speed bumps. It’s available with air suspension as well, but company car specialists prefer leaf springs. I have no knowledge of these things. WARNING uneven road surface This part is 31 cm. Ladies and gentlemen, pay attention. This is 31 cm. Not this, but 2 hands. If you need 2 hands to grab it, it’s 31 cm. OK, bye. It’s very big and very long. It doesn’t fit on my driveway. To give you an idea, a BMW 750Li or Ld does fit. You may not want this car as a private buyer, because you’ll have to pay private motor vehicle tax. That’d be 15,000 euros. How fun. The price list is in the car, but I don’t want to cross that puddle. When buying this car for company use, you won’t pay VAT or private motor vehicle tax. That’s nice. I don’t really get how additional tax liability works for vans and pickup trucks. I think you pay additional tax liability over all of it, unless more people drive the car. Then it’s only 300 euros a year. Problem solved, more people drive your car. One disadvantage, it doesn’t fit in the car wash. You have to go to a truck wash or something, or wash it by hand. That’s a serious disadvantage. You want to think about this before buying. Somehow, this is a funny car. It’s faster than you’d expect, the engine may be a size too big for this car, I can annoy people in bourgeois cars… With sprints and in corners.I have more courage than the average driver. It’s fun to approach and brake at the last moment. They see a big badge in the rear-view mirror and move aside and… V6 power! He won’t hear with the windows closed, but you get the idea. We have to work toward a conclusion. Only one conclusion is possible. What car did the defense
forces have previously and is now available as a desirable version with an engine that’s a bit too big? Or rather with 2 engines that are a bit too big. Indeed, the G63 AMG, also as G65 AMG with a V12.MTM can put a 4.2 V8 TDI engine in the Amarok, so it can be even more insane. This is the poor man’s G63 AMG. Made possible by nieuweautokopen.nl Subtitles – Maru’s Text Support Jesus, it’s big like this. .
