Volkswagen Amarok V6 Test Drive | Review 2016

In Volkswagen Amarok

Hello guys! My name is Horatiu Voicu and today we are testing the new Volkswagen Amarok facelift with the 3.0l V6 engine. This engine comes in the most powerful configuration with 224 hp. It fits like a glove on this kind of vehicle. It does not have any problem with the car’s mass and I think that even when is fully loaded it should work like a charm because has this massive amount of torque, 550 Nm available from low revs. The suspension on this Amarok is quite good, you won’t realise that the back axis is on leaf springs. You will feel some vibrations due to this kind of suspension, but only above 110 km/h. It tends to understeer when you attack too hard a corner, but is understandable due to the fact that the ride is quite high and the car’s large size. This one came with the 8 gears automatic gearbox. The gearbox is very good even when you are off-roading or when you are cruising on the highway. The gear changing is smooth and fast and if you put it in the Sport mode, the whole car comes to life. For the off-road part, the Torsen differential which come on this Amarok will do the hard job for you. For example, we done some off-roading with winter tyres in very harsh conditions for cars with a simple differential or with a simple locking one. The infotainment system that came on this Amarok is an optional feature. It is a touchscreen with a 6.3” screen. I am not a very big fan of this kind of system, but overall this one works great without lagging. On the steering wheel we have controls for the volume and the infotainment system and on its right side we have the controls for answering calls, voice commands and on-board computer. The material’s quality used in this Amarok is not that high, the hard plastic is overall in the cabin, but it will pass the time test. The driving position is quite high which gives you a great visibility overall. The seats are good enough that you will not complain about back problems. The steering wheel can be adjusted in any direction. This is how the Amarok looks from the front and under this huge bonnet lays the 3.0l V6 engine. The ending of our test brings us somewhere out of town and I thought to show you how the loading bed looks like. Its volume is not that impressing, but here you can fit an euro-palet. Amarok is the only pickup with this feature. You can fit in here a plastic cover as a optional feature, so you will have to pay extra for this. The mechanism is
quite easy, you just close or open it from this handle and you lock it with the key. This model price starts around 47.000 eur with some optionals. Guys, this was our test with the Amarok facelift V6. If you enjoyed this press the like and share buttons, and if not there is a button for this also. Until next time, follow eblogauto. .
