Volkswagen Beetle 2.0 TSI 220 KM R-Line TEST PL & ENG motocaina.pl / kasiafrendl.pl

In Volkswagen Beetle

That’s not a feminine car anymore. R-Line! A solid car for women who know what they want. Porsche Cayman. Does Volkswagen Beetle strike you as a feminine car? Are you looking for a vase inside? That’s not a car for sweet and charming babes anymore. It has more in common with GTI than pretty-pretty Fiat 500 or Mini base models. A solid car for women who know what they want. There are Xenon headlights with LEDs arranged in semicircles, windows without frames, a spoiler, tail lights a la Porsche Cayman, tyres in size 235/40 and rrrred brake calipers.Plus irresistibly thick inner wheel arches. Aren’t these hips gorgeous? 220 hp, 350 Nm from a 2L engine. Only 4 cylinders? Not enough? This turbo-charged TSI engine makes this Beetle sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 sec. Maximum speed – 231 km/h, front-wheel drive, a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, electronic differential lock. Sounds good, doesn’t it? There are 3 knobs to the left of the steering wheel – the strength of ambient lighting, shades – red, blue or white, and, of course, the height of lights. Fender, famous for their guitars, managed to amplify the sound splendidly inside this seemingly small car. Even the door speakers are illuminated, there are 8 of them plus a subwoofer. That gives the total power of 400 W. The steering wheel, one of the most important car parts, is 3-spoke, flattened at the bottom, a bit too narrow, but still chunky and covered with leather. It has the perfect size, in my opinion. Cool! There’s lots of space at the front, it’s less comfortable at the back, though. But I’m not going to dwell on that. This dark interior can be brightened up by a glass sunroof, which I don’t have here in this version. What I do have is this cool red leather seat upholstery. Fellow journalists claim that the plastic close at the driver’s hand is hard. Firstly, this hardness never bothered me. And secondly, once you’re on the road, you don’t care about such minor flaws. While driving you can keep an eye on oil temperature and turbocharger boost pressure, or measure how much time has passed since you started off. There’s only one gauge missing – the temperature of liquid coolant. There’s a 6-inch touch screen known from other Volkswagen models. Navigation works well, it’s user-friendly, location data can be entered either manually or by using voice commands. Beetle is built on the same platform as Golf,
Tiguan, Yeti or Audi Q3, such a unification. It’s seems to be the smallest and least practical from the abovementioned, but, on the other hand, it’s the most stylish one. Pity you have to pay an arm and a leg for this retro style and the R-Line badge on fenders. You sit quite low, like in a sports car. Still, because of the closeness of the underbody and well-tuned suspension, we feel all bumps on the road. But there are good sides to it – the car has great traction and while turning fast we’ll value well-designed seats preventing us from falling out.Maybe it’s expensive, but if you want to have a nicely-made car with a huge engine, the price has to be high. Ciao! .
