Volkswagen Golf Cabrio review

In Volkswagen Golf

Coincidentally, there’s an Eos driving behind us. It’s odd that we had to wait such a long time for this car. When I think of a 4-seater convertible, which is a bit gay according to Sacha… …then I think of the Golf Convertible. Very simple, the first one. They’ve sold that one for many years. Then came the Golf 3 convertible and the Golf 4 convertible. And then they stopped. And now, while the Golf 6 has been around for a while… …they’re making a convertible again. On the other hand, it’s not a coincidence that they’ve waited until now. There’s an Eos with a hardtop, but VW’s Audi has the A3 convertible. And of course this car shares a lot of its guts with the latter one, the A3 convertible. The roof comes straight from Audi, so it opens and closes quickly. Closing it takes 11 seconds and opening it takes 9 seconds. And you can do that up to 20 mph. I don’t think the normal Golf hatchback is a very exciting car.But as soon as they take the roof off, it’s much more fun. Even with the roof closed; it’s got a nice coupe roof line. We just thought… We, the camera team. You know, the trailing cars and the guys in here. VW could make a Golf coupe. Make a limited edition of the Golf R with this exact roof line… …but then with a fixed metal roof. While we’re talking about performance, we’re driving the 2-liter TSI. We know that engine from lots of other VWs… …Audis and Seats. It’s also in the Golf GTI, and in this car it has roughly the same power. With its 210 hp, it’s quite a quick car. 0-62 in 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 146 mph. The suspension seems to be a lot softer than the GTI’s…..but it still corners very well. It also gives more feedback, that’s because of something very simple…..the open roof. You can hear if the tires are struggling very early on. All in all, it’s quite a fun car. The one drawback is that it does cost more than a regular Golf. It costs about 4 to 5 grand more. It starts at 27 something grand. That gets you the 1.2 TSI. There are also two 1.4 TSIs, one with 122 and one with 160 hp. And there are two diesels: a 1.6 and a 2-liter. There’s a lot of competition in this class, but they all have a hardtop. They aren’t that pretty with their big trunks that have to fit the roof. But its real USP is that it comes with LED rear lights as standard. Even the 1.2 TSI. .
