This Golf R in optima forma It’s gold And in this spring sun it looks awesome! with those golden leafs A piece of jewelry to my eyes! That’s why people want this so much.. That’s a perfect job by VW It’s not the most exciting drivers car We already know that from our first drive with the Golf 7.5R *Facelift of the Golf 7 R BUT Is has become MORE exciting As I said this is an exhaust review an Akrapovic exhaust! Akrapovic As you know make exhausts out of titanium super expensive! and so, a very expensive exhaust..Over 3500 euro is what VW asks for that little bit extra Not that long ago That was triple the value of my car! Is that a sad thing about the exhaust? or about me?! It’s a lot of money Should you pay it? I think the biggest problem of the Golf R is its lack of involvement It’s never with you.. It never needs you.. You’re a passenger in a fast car.Yes you do operate the throttle and brakes and steering of course. But that’s it. Even more so when you have a DSG Which has become better with the facelift It then got the DSG7 and out with the DSG6 The DSG7 feels just a bit more mechanical So you get a jolt when upshifting Which is combined with a nice bang from the exhaust! When you have the driving mode in RACE So thats added value in driving experience. A shot in the back and one from the exhaust sensation, experience! Something I’m not used to with the Golf R We call this the Playstation car As if you’re playing Gran Turismo from your couch That’s how little involvement the Golf R normally offers But when you use Launch Control which normally is not that exciting..with that Akrapovic exhaust it now screams! bizar.. And in theory the handling is also improved The Akrapovic is titanium and so it’s 7Kg lighter than the stock exhaust. Not that you will ever notice that.. I think the Akrapovic exhaust adds the experience missing with the Golf R And so we can conclude: 3500 euro for this exhaust ALWAYS! .
