Hi ! In this video I will show you how I removed the front bumper from my passat car I did this because I had to change a xenon light bulb from my headlights I think you should change both lights when you start doing this I also fixed a crack in the hose from the windshield fluid can Enjoy the video ! I had to change a bulb so I had to take out the bumper You will need a tool box with torx key, key extension, a crank I disconnected the battery for safety reasons as I worked at the electrical system I turned the steering wheel as much as possible to the right side to have acces to the wing I lifted the car on the crank, and I removed the 3 torx screws in order to detach the plastic from the wing Here you have to pull harder because it is difficult to detach After you have removed it you will have access to two plastic nuts These are the nuts On the left side you will have more room, on the right it will be tighter because of the windshield fluid can You can unscrew them with a size 8 mm (1/4″) socket wrench, if I remember correctly I unscrewed the torx screws from the bottom which hold the bumper These are a little rusty, so I used a special spray to clean them As I said before I’m doing this because one of my xenon bulb was broken My other xenon bulb has a pink shade and I regret not having changed it at that time because I had to do all this once again just to replace it too I advise you to change both of them After unscrewing all the torx screws I detached the nuts holding the bumper on the other side Here I used a longer key extension to have better access because you have a tighter space because of the windshield fluid can The can had a broken hose and I was losing windshield fluid I also unscrewed the torx screws from the top side the ones from the headlights When you’ve finished doing this, you will find two more screws one for each side, on the bottom, in front of the wheels These hold the bumper connected to the wing, one for each side. The bumper comes out quite easily, I was not expecting that. You should detach it on both sides To work to the headlight you didn’t need to detach the bumper completely But if you wish to remove it completely there are still two connectors which I removed with great difficulty because they were stuck Make sure you don’t break the locking mechanism of the connector Just use a coin which you press against the locking mechanism here you remove the fluid hose which takes the fluid
to the headlights You pull the bumper towards you and you’ ve managed to detach it. the puddle you see comes from the fluid which I lost when I fixed the crack on the hose I had to cut down the broken part and glue the hose back together These are the connectors I removed Please share and subscribe ! Thanks for watching, see you next time. .
