If you can access hidden green menu in your Volkswagen Touareg II then you can calculate estimated mileage of your car. Press and hold buttons SETUP and CAR to enter RNS-850 hidden menu. Now go to environment, hdd, smart, viewsmart, scroll down and make note of two values: „Power on hours” and „Power cycles”. Next check „Standby delay” value that you’ll find in onofftimer. Press and hold SETUP and CAR again to exit hidden menu. Now you need to switch to your instrument cluster display. Go to your trip computer, switch it to „MFD long-term” and look for „Average speed”. Note that value as well as your mileage. The longer your trip computer was not reset the better. So you have your cars mileage and average speed. You also know how many times hard disk was turned on, how many hours it was working and how long it works after your car is turned off before going to standby mode. Multiply power cycles by standby timer and you’ll get hours that hard disk was working with ignition off. Now take total hard disk hours and subtract ignition off hours so you know how many hours the ignition was on. Next you need to multiply those hours by your average speed to get estimated mileage. Compare that value to the mileage on the instrument cluster. If those numbers are close each other, then your mileage should be real. .
