Personally, I am used to the Landrover Defender. It is my everyday car. Of course there is a big difference between those two. The comfort is much higher in the Amarok. The handling characteristics are better, except maybe for terrain. On the streets it is definitely better than my Landrover. There are many accessories built in, such as a rear view camera, extra lighting on the rooftop, a roll over bar at the loading area and a load compartment cover. The car also has an automatic transmission that means no more clutching, like on the Defender. The Pick-up is definitely better in all-terrain. You can get anywhere with the four-wheel-drive.You can activate the differential lock; you can use the extra off-road-mode in open terrain. It is just a great car. This was the first time I drove a car like this. I have to say I am very surprised. Especially when I had the trailer with the mini excavator attached to it. When I drove through this very muddy and hilly terrain I didn’t even notice the trailer with the excavator. The traction was given at any moment and I was pleasantly surprised. The moment I saw the car for the first time I thought “Wow, Volkswagen had a great idea!” It was impressive. The loading-area is fine, too. You can easily load and unload the vehicle without problems. I think this car fits “fifty-fifty” on the construction site, depending on how you want to use it. . It is perfect for two people, some minor tools, a trailer with a mini-excavator or even other materials for the construction site. The Amarok is a beautiful vehicle. We used the all-terrain-tires, which works for muddy terrain, but if you want to be knee-deep in the mud, you need to put on the off-road-tires. .
